symbolic magnetism, alchemy and the tarot

last Sunday a.m., the 14th of June here in new hampshire… playing the aleister crowley tarot, i drew four cards one of which was the 4 of swords, otherwise known as “truce.”

truce

a few hours later judy from santa fe sent me a comment located:

http://www.shamaniqueone.com/a-case-for-synchronicity/58/comment-page-1#comment-16

from her quote: “… I pulled a card for you today Miss Ing, and it’s the Four of Swords — the negotiating mind, the conflict/resolution mind, or the mediating mind. This is about Truce — an opportunity to move through conflictual issues and the states of complexity that need to be resolved. In order for truce to be experienced, one must: 1) show up; 2) pay attention; 3) tell the truth; and 4) not be attached to the outcome. [All of this is taken from Angeles Arrien's Tarot Handbook.]”

synchronicity strikes again!

although i aleady replied to the comment i want to explore the topic further from the alchemical transformation point of view since that is my passion. if i was a university student i’d say i’ve been cramming for my finals precisely about this very particular subject. it means so many things to me on so many levels, personal and professional, that it was not a surprise it showed up twice.

in the most basic exploration of this subject, (since this is not a thesis!), the quote stated above from Angeles Arrien, is the bare bones alchemical recipe for transformation that does not include an important point i feel moved to elaborate on.

peace

in the tarot illustration the 2 of swords is peace, 4 of swords, truce. as truce and peace are fundamentally interchangeable, the difference here is by number of components involved in the equation. the graphic demonstrates that peace occurs at the intersection, the meeting point, of two, while truce occurs at the meeting point in excess of two.

a critical factor in the art of transformation is that transformation can ONLY occur when the meeting point is intersected by all the components involved. this is not directly stated in the equation above nor by the illustration of truce. in this graphic the component points do not intersect - they do not even touch. this is the divergence from the crowley representation. real truce requires true connection or intersection of all points to fire the nexus which activates the alchemical reaction that brings about transformation – in the truest meaning of the word.

gain
to further illustrate this point we can look at the cards 9 of disks, gain, and 10 of discs, wealth. (these cards refer to an individual.) in this illustrated definition gain is a result derived from a meeting point internal alchemical process as shown by the intersection and connection of the disks. this realized vibration is self-created and originates from within, magnetizing from that point and pulling in gain, in all of its forms, to that vibration/being.

wealth

the graphic of wealth on the other hand illustrates it did not come from an internal alchemical transformation, instead it is designated, perhaps by karmic design. in this illustration, wealth just “is” as a part of a being’s particular expression, or evolutionary path, and not the result of the event of transformation.

the vibration and the magnetics of the vibration is why symbolism, in this case as demonstrated by the tarot, is relevant to the “tuning in” to what we are magnetizing to us, and therefore to our reality, in the moment.

physics.

there is so much more to be said about this subject but it’s for another time.

bless,

ing
