*

for the love of ramona…

*

about 3 hours from the time
my boyfriend and i broke up

he hooked up with some chick…

… a masseuse he found
at the santa fe fleamarket -
the hip place to be
on the weekends.

from that initial meeting…

they took off to colorado for a few days

to get to know each other better.

when he returned he was feeling better,

and sweeter,

so we made up.

*

but then there was ramona.

*

so i went to the sf fleamarket to introduce myself…

the only masseuse there -
she had her back toward the walkway
then
she turned -
and saw me standing near…

i stepped closer,

took off my sunglasses,
and looking into her eyes…

smiled and

spoke

my name.

and then beheld
in awesome amazement…

the unfoldment of her soul’s essence
oozing and blazing
in all it’s glory…

..for me.

in the iridescent light…
a most loving smile blossomed
as she reached out in

welcome

and

said…

“ingrid, i’m so happy to meet you !…”

*

a ma zing beauty…

amazing being.

*

there was no one like her before

and certainly no one like her after

the boyfriend came and went… eventually

*

but ramona…

ramona lasts forever.

*

blessed be.

dearest Ing, thank you for creating this piece that I am reading a few hours before the annual summer solstice celebration. The last 24 hours have certainly opened up my consciousness — yesterday I finally sat down and watched a CD that my brother in law created and sent to me two Christmases ago, and which I have held off watching, not wanting to look into my well of grief…just yet. It is my mother, and then my father, speaking separately about their lives, and our family trees, in interviews that my sister conducted in 1990. I found out yesterday, as I watched Dad talk about himself, that the Beattys were Protestant Irish from Dublin. I thought they were English and that I didn’t have a drop of Irish blood. Well, pinch me! But to get to the point, the theme of today’s celebration at the fire pit is that the past is done, over, fin, finis, finish, finished. And with respect to the Unforgettable Ramona and your lovely piece about that, it brought up many old memories of someone named Roseta–she was supposed to be The One, but of course she became The One of Many Ones. But I love all of those Ones…they were my agents of transformation, my assistant gear-switchers. Thank you and Happy Solstice dear Ing. xxxx
